As we approach Passover 2025, the Holy Spirit has revealed to me (Rania) that this season holds a strategic window of time for a breakthrough—personally, nationally, and internationally. On April 9th, during a Zoom call with our HOPE intercessory team, the Holy Spirit began to stir this revelation.
This message was ignited by a dream given to one of our intercessors. In the dream, the Lord revealed that an antidote for healing would come forth from the city of Shechem. The background of the dream involved our intercessor seeking a breakthrough for her grandson, who had been struggling with a rare illness. Upon hearing the dream, the Lord reminded me of Shechem’s prophetic destiny and significance in the Scriptures.

The Significance of Shechem in Scripture

Shechem holds a vital place in biblical history, marked by moments of breakthrough, covenant, and divine encounters. Here are 12 significant events that took place in Shechem:

Genesis 12:6 – Abram first built an altar to the Lord when he entered the land of Canaan from Haran.

Genesis 34:27-29 – The incident involving Dinah and the men of Moab led to Simeon and Levi’s actions, after which Jacob instructed the family to move to Bethel and build an altar.

Genesis 33:18-20 – Jacob built his first altar after reconciling with Esau and named it “El Elohe Israel” (“The Mighty God of Israel”).

Genesis 35:4 – Jacob buried all foreign gods and earrings under the terebinth tree in Shechem before journeying to Bethel.

Genesis 37:12 – Joseph was sent to find his brothers in Shechem.

Joshua 17:7 – Shechem was given to the tribe of Manasseh.

Joshua 21:21 – Shechem became a city of refuge for the man slayer.

Joshua 24 – Joshua gathered the tribes of Israel to make a covenant with God after the conquest of Canaan.

Judges 8:31 – Gideon’s concubine lived in Shechem and bore Abimelech, who later conspired against the sons of Gideon.

1 Kings 12:1 – King Rehoboam was crowned in Shechem.

1 Kings 12:25 – King Jeroboam fortified Shechem and made it his capital, setting up idols in Bethel and Dan.

Acts 7:16 – Jacob and Joseph were buried in Shechem.

Shechem’s Prophetic Significance

Shechem became a place of breakthrough in several key moments in Israel’s history. It was the site of Abram’s first altar to God, marking the beginning of his journey into God’s promises. It was also where Jacob built an altar after wrestling with God and reconciling with Esau. “Shechem” means “shoulder,” a symbol often associated with governmental authority and strength.

Shechem represents a place of confrontation with strongholds and resistance. It is also where people encountered the promises of God, made covenants, and experienced breakthroughs. However, it was also a place of opposition, as seen in the incident with Dinah and the worship of false gods (1 Kings 12:25), which served as distractions preventing people from fully stepping into their God-given promises.

The Holy Spirit highlighted Jacob’s altar in Shechem, where he declared the name of the Lord as “El Elohe Israel,” the Mighty One of Israel. This declaration marked a significant moment of victory and covenant. As we approach Passover, I believe God is calling us to build an altar of our own in this sacred season of breakthrough.

Building the Altar: A Spiritual Invitation

On the eve of Passover, April 12th, we are invited to build an altar in our homes. The Lord has shown us a symbolic act of preparing an altar with 12 stones, representing the 12 names of God that we will declare during the 12-day window of Passover. This act of building an altar and preparing the table of the Lord will serve as a powerful declaration of our faith and expectation for the breakthrough.

Here is how we will build the altar:

1. Gather 12 stones to represent each of the 12 names of God.

2. Set the table of the Lord with bread and grape juice (or wine).

3. Pour a portion of the grape juice on the altar, symbolizing the blood of Jesus.

4. Pour olive oil on the altar, representing the anointing of the Holy Spirit that breaks yokes.

5. Finally, pour water on the altar, symbolizing life, cleansing, and healing for our homes, families, and nations.

We will declare the name of the Lord, “El Elohe Israel,” as we consecrate this time of breakthrough.

12 Days of Declaring the Names of God

During the 12 days leading up to Passover, we will declare 12 specific names of God, meditating on each one and reflecting on His character. These names will serve as our focus for each day of the breakthrough window:

Day 1: El Elohe Israel (The Mighty God of Israel)

Day 2: Jehova Rapha (The Lord Who Heals)

Day 3: Jehova Jireh (The Lord Our Provider)

Day 4: Jehova Mekadshechem (The Lord Who Sanctifies)

Day 5: Jehova Shalom (The Lord Our Peace)

Day 6: Jehova Sabboath (The Lord of Hosts)

Day 7: El Olam (The Everlasting God)

Day 8: El Shaddai (God Almighty)

Day 9: El Elyon (The Most High God)

Day 10: Jehova Tsedkinu (The Lord Our Righteousness)

Day 11: Jehova Shama (The Lord is There)

Day 12: Jehova Nisi (The Lord Our Banner)
